Didn't work so it went back. Sep 02, 2010 This was my first experience with a code reader and it was my luck to get a defective one. It kept reading ERROR and would not finish searching for codes despite repeated attempts, so I sent it back, which Amazon made super easy by the way. Maybe they tried to build it too cheaply or something. However, the company has a really good reputation so I gave them another try and ordered the advanced model 3100.
Equuis 3030 easy to use Aug 30, 2010 This product can pay for itself very quickly if you can read the codes to your vehicle and get a basic understanding of waht they mean. The reason is that you can let your repair guy know up front that you have some knowledge of whats going on so you are less likely to get hosed. This code reader is a nice value, and was worth every penny. I know there are more sophisticated and expensive code readers out there, but this one did the job for me at a nominal price. Shortly after purchasing this item, my '2002 Ford Mustang developed an engine skip. The code reader traced it to cylinder # 3 hopefully just a bad wire. I took the car to the dealer, and let them know that I had a pretty good handle on what was going on. My bill ended up being pretty cheap.
Basic but functional Aug 30, 2010 It reads and clears codes, it also shows retest status and therefore is completely functional. The reason for rating this item less than five starts is its cheap look and feel. Also that it takes longer than other OBD readers to extract codes.
Lasted about a year and a half Aug 18, 2010 Bought mine about a year and a half ago and it just stopped working. Powers up when you plug it in but gives an error after it tries to read the codes. It worked fine up until then but I usually hope that a tool will last a little longer than this one did
