3Weather Center  Jul 26, 2010
Very nice product, however I was disappointed that the product specification stated that the center also gives dew point readings. Neither the manual or display show this feature.

1Don't Buy  Jun 07, 2010
I bought this unit from Weather Shack in January. everything worked good after set up. about 2 weeks later the total rainfall amount showed 70" total rain and the 24 hour rain showed 1.2", this was the first rain, and obviously the reading is wrong. I waited weeks for a response from La Crosse. Then, after going through all the suggested battery replacements and restarts, they asked me to send it back for repair (AT MY EXPENSE). They returned the unit in far worse condition. Now nothing except the indoor temp works. Again, battery replacements, and restart, still doesn't work. They Want me to send it back again (AT MY EXPENSE). I guess they think I should pay for their mistakes! Not going to happen. Weather shack said they would take it back for store credit, if I shipped it back to them in the original packaging, and of course at my EXPENSE ! Why would I have the original packaging 6 months later. I guess it will be going in the trash can instead. Stick with Amazon. The prices are cheaper. Don't even consider La Crosse.. The product is wothless, and their service department is even worse. What a waste of money.
I will be buying the next weather station from Davis. Made in the USA (not CHINA = Junk)

1Don't Buy This  Apr 28, 2010
The transmitter on this weather station fails in about 8 months or as long as your batteries last. Once the batteries go dead the base station will never pick up the signal again. La Crosse replaced the first transmitter. The second transmitter also died in about 8 months. La Crosse says the problem is caused by bad batteries. Well, duh! Batteries do go bad after a period of time. Shouldn't the weather station be built so it can withstand battery replacement? I love the info when the thing works but I won't bother with this model again.

3Lacking features  Apr 16, 2010
Just check your features before buying it. It does not have atomic time and no indoor temp. These are not complaints about the product, just warning you to make sure its what you want. Its dumbed down for a "Professional Weather Station"

3A nice little weather station  Mar 11, 2010
I purchased this model for all the features offered (wind speed/direction, self-emptying rain guage, temperature/wind chill, humidity, current barometic pressure with history, weather tendency icons, etc.). The selling point to me was the 5 weather alarms feature listed on the package. Living in Tornado Alley, we need to know of storm watches and warnings. Therefore, I was disappointed to learn afterward the alarm features are for temperature, humidity, wind speed, barometic pressure, etc. Why would anyone need an audible alarm to go off for something like temperature, humidity, or air pressure? The logic behind that escapes me.

Another disappointment (a minor one) is that the time and date must be set manually. Being manufactured by LaCrosse Technology, why is it not radio controlled to automatically receive this information from the atomic clock at Ft. Collins, CO? Our other LaCrosse clock certainly is. I also wish the desktop station itself was a little larger for easier viewing.

Other than these points, I am pleased with the weather station and very much enjoy watching it.
