George Harrison’s first-ever career-spanning solo hits collection, Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison. Special packaging includes a 28-page booklet featuring previously unseen and rare photos, and newly-written liner notes by Warren Zanes. The collection’s 19 tracks have been digitally remastered by Giles Martin at EMI’s Abbey Road Studios. “Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison is a gathering of material that takes us far into the territory that was ultimately a place unique to George Harrison,” writes Warren Zanes in his liner notes essay for the new collection.
This collection is the first to span Harrison’s entire solo recording career, including the #1 Billboard Pop singles “My Sweet Lord,” “Isn’t It A Pity,” “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth),” and “Got My Mind Set On You." Let It Roll also features live recordings of three timeless Harrison-penned Beatles songs, “Something,” “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” and “Here Comes The Sun,” from his 1971 all-star Concert For Bangladesh benefit at Madison Square Garden.
“The keyhole into the world of George Harrison is the music itself. Yet his songs and the accomplishments for which he’s remembered are inextricably bound—and those accomplishments are, without question, eclectic in scope,” Zanes writes.
George Harrison is a twice-inducted member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a solo artist and as a member of The Beatles, and an 11-time Grammy Award winner for his recordings with The Beatles, Traveling Wilburys, and as a solo artist.

Should have been two CD's Jul 16, 2010 The title is "Songs by George Harrison", as opposed to "Greatest Hits". "Let it Roll" is a great album cut from "All Things Must Pass". There are other great album cuts, or songs by George that could be added to this collection. "Run of the Mill" from "All Things Must Pass" is simply one of his finest melodies. "This Song" from :33 and a 3rd", in fact, there is nothing here from "33 and a 3rd" which is one of his stronger albums. "Dark Horse" is missing as well......This is a nice start, but this icon deserves a double CD to really represent "songs of George Harrison"
Would you ever buy another G. Harrison, other than All Things Must Pass? (DARK HORSE) Jun 24, 2010 You are here, undoubtedly, with a certain question. Now that you have All Things Must Pass (unquestionably one of the tops of any post Beatles effort, by anyone) should my collection include even one more Harrison album. YES!! That one is Dark Horse. (For the record, I like '73's "Living in the Material World" a lot (Dark Horse is better). I think that '76's "Thirty Three and a Third" is okay, too. (75's "Extra Texture" is a disaster.)
In 1974, "Paul" released "Band on the Run" and the critics and radio stations seemed determined to make it Paul's masterpiece (and it is a way cool cd). To do so, they wrongly seemed determined to prevent "Dark Horse" from competing with it. Although the songs "Ding Dong, Ding Dong" and "Dark Horse" got a lot of airplay and were successful top 40 hits, the album received no acclaim at the time and critics and DJs seemed to be disgusted with George's voice hoarceness. You'll likely agree with me that his hoarceness likely improves George's voice! I never thought that Geo had a particularly strong or great voice and i like the character that his hoarceness adds. The critics simply had an agenda and their antenna were down. Don't repeat their mistake and don't miss out any longer on this 70s era classic.
In retrospect, Dark Horse has incredible song writing and musicianship and is definitely within the top ten post-Beatles music, by "anyone." :) Enjoy!!

2 disc collection would have been perfect Jun 04, 2010 Great collection,there are two songs that I was surprised to find, from two movies: "I don't want to do it" that is a Bob Dylan song that I had on Vinyl from the "Porky's revenge" soundtrack from 1985 and "Cheer down" from one of the Lethal Weapon movies, the second I think, from 1989. I miss though Bangladesh,You, Love comes to everyone (that even Clapton covered just recently),a few ones from "Somewhere in England" such as Blood from a clown and That which I have lost and another one from 1973 I think called "Don't let me wait too long".

Can't stop listening... Apr 26, 2010 I'm addicted to this CD. It inspired me to purchase the entire collection of this incredible artist's poetic, soulful and enrapturing music. George was (is) unlike any Beatle or any other musician. He poured his spirit and love of his Sweet Lord in all he did. Incomparable and irreplaceable George. Thank you for leaving us with hope to cope with this heavy load...

the most notable is dark horse , not for you , bangla desh,
gone troppo , the list can go on.they should have omitted the beatles songs.
