GREAT PRODUCT !!! Aug 21, 2010 Great product, Best quality, could easily cost much more.. Comes in a nice molded case with a separate analog thermometer. Great for the kitchen, garage...
Other temperatures you can measure Aug 20, 2010 A really great product for the price. I've had mine for more than a year and gave one to my each of my kids at Xmas!
It's the home appliance nobody has and everybody needs.
Some of the cool things I used it for:
Of course, cooking (I heard Geek cooks love them) and AC checks.
Measuring the summer heat in Houston, the black basketball net base 165F (hot enough to cook an egg).
Checking to see which Boyscout wasn't drinking enough water at summer camp (they forget drink water you know, so if they were over 100F hydrate hydrate hydrate).
Diagnosing which brake on my car was bad.
Checking for zombie currents, checking for bad electrical switches (yes, it works).
But the very best was busting my kid lying to me about not playing video games (TV temp 100F, room temp 75F, busted).
Great fun Jul 17, 2010 I've had this tool for about 6 months. It is great fun to measure about anything I can think of. It is one of my favorite toys. Some friends are going to get one for themselves.
Think cooling temperature for hummingbird water/sugar mixture so that I don't handle it too soon.
Its resting place has migrated to the top of the refrigerator. When I get home from a grocery trip I often put meat, milk, fish and other non-vegetable perishables in the freezer to reduce their storage temperature from that of the trip home (and maximize storage times) before moving them to the lower refrigerator chamber. I check the temperature until it approaches 32F.
Works good for making sure beer is very cold.
I just used it to test the operating temp of a new USB wireless adapter (for my desktop) - 95F I can live with.
Dont buy this one Jun 20, 2010 I used it for about a year and in hot weather it started acting up. Finally quit working very disappointed. Not made for everyday use.
It's handy to have! Jun 05, 2010 I've been using this to gauge the temp of my pizza stone on the grill.
It works good!
Now, since I've bought this, I've found other uses, like seeing how hot my baseboard heating elements are, or how much heat the sun generates on parts of my home so I could have an idea how to better insulate.
I'm sure there will be more uses as time goes on.
The temp seems accurate and I like having the unit handy.
