Uncomfortable with glasses Mar 16, 2010 If you wear glasses most of the time like I do, this headset will not be comfortable for you. In fact, I couldn't keep it on without constantly adjusting it. So the sound was not good. I sent it back for a Sony over-the-head headset.
Second unit I've purchased - first still working after 3 years Mar 15, 2010 Truly the best Bluetooth headset on the market if you're looking for something that works very well in the car and doesn't transmit the road noise within your conversations, even at high speeds. I've tried a half dozen other headsets and always come back to this one for tried-and-true performance and sound quality.
My most recent purchase was to replace my first 510 that I bought three years ago. That unit is still working but seems to have lost some sound quality, however three years is a lot of use for something that I use on average 3 times a day, 7 days a week. Impressive that it lasted as long as it did.
Don't bother looking at other headsets, despite many new flashy models, brands etc., this model continues to be a best-seller despite being released in the mid-2000's. Even Logitech's own upgrade of this product (Voyager Pro) can't compete.
Good, Minor Problem Mar 13, 2010 Only problem is it doesn't sit down in the ear canal far enough, requiring volume to be increased more than otherwise necessary and causing distortion. Needs to be made so that the curved stalk connecting the part that rests behind the ear and the earspeaker will hold it's shape, positioning the earspeaker closer to ones ear.
Used this for one year-Picks up a lot of background noise- Mar 12, 2010 It picks up a lot of background noise...people I call are always complaining that they can't hear me well and I end up having to switch to phone mode and then they can hear me well. The thicker part that goes behind your ear can be quite large and uncomfortable. It comes with an assortment of ear buds (different sizes) they tend to unscrew and fall off; it still works without an ear bud but very uncomfortable.

Surprisingly good Mar 11, 2010 Bought the first of these unit form my 40 year old son who is an over-the-road truck driver. He had owned a Motorola headset before but it had muffled microphone audio at times and at times was difficult to understand him. He wanted a headset with a very long boom microphone and I bought this unit for him thinking it was what he wanted (Plantronics). It wasn't the unit he wanted, but he was very happy with it. The sound pick up is very natural and very quiet. This is important because in a truck environment, there are lots of other noises. This Voyager provides excellent voice clarity without picking up a lot of background noise. I believe that it has a microphone silensing circuit or VOX circuit in it, because if my son pauses in talking, the mic seems to go completely quiet. I believe that if it is not detecting voice or ambient noise, then it completely cuts off. You start to think that you might have lost the call becasue it get so quiet, but if you ask him something, it turns right back on. Its actually a very nice feature. It is also different because it has the larger behind the ear electronics module. However, he found that this kept it anchored on his ear better than the much smaller Motorola. He liked it so much, and I liked what it sounded like so much that I bought myself one, and I find it to be a very good bluetooth headset. It is very comfortable in the car, which is where I tend to use it. I also find that the ear piece stays in my ear canal much better than the much lighter Motorola did. I really like this Voyager 510 from Plantronics. I find it ideal for my uses. It does fight with an auto-based bluetooth system such as Microsoft SYNC in Ford products and I have found that you have to use one or the other system, but it wont tolerate both.
My one complaint with the Plantronics Voyager is that the on off switch is very tiny and difficult to use (you have to press it 3 seconds to turn the unit on or off), so I leave it on all the time, and turn the bluetooth transmitter in my cell phone on and off rather than trying to do on the Voyager.
Great product
