Item delivered on time for a birthday. Though is made of plastic, pieces are not too light Aug 23, 2010 I was afraid that the playing pieces, being made of plastic, would be too light, and may feel cheap. They are not.
I received the item on time to give as a birthday present. We played a great game of chess on it. The 10 year-old loved it. I loved playing him on it. Successful gift.
Cherished gift Jun 14, 2010 I purchased this as a gift for a nephew that loves chess and the transformers. He plays chess with it weekly. The pieces are quite detailed and very well made. I was thrilled with this game.
perfect for kids! Feb 18, 2010 My son LOVES the game!! The pieces are plastic/rubber (good for my 6 year old) and the board folds in half like any other board game. The plastic holding tray isn't very sturdy, but it's marked so you know where each piece goes when putting it away. the whole box is about the size of a candy land box, so it stacks well with the other games. I saw this game in walmart about 6 months ago, but when I went to find it more recently, they didn't have it anymore. I also checked other stores, but Amazon was the only place I could find it. My son loves Transformers as much as he loves chess, I was very happy to find a combination of the two.
Transformer Chess Set - AWESOME!!! Jan 09, 2010 This was for my little boy from Santa. He was up at 6am, saw it under the tree, and freaked out! At 6:10am he challenged me to a game. I was a little worried that with the pieces being models of the movie characters it would be hard to play, but each piece is marked (i.e. the piece for King I think was Optimus Prime and it has a little king picture on it so you can tell). There is also a guide. It's a great toy, it looks great, good quality, fun!!! Great choice!!
