Very small output Sep 08, 2010 We ordered this believing that the generator had some capacity. As it didn't we returned the item. I have still to receive a refund.
Cool Portable Power Device Aug 15, 2010 I gave this as a wedding gift to a couple of live in the wilderness off the grid. It's great as a secondary source of power then can move from place to place.
economical price and very satisfied Jul 31, 2010 Xantrex Technologies 852-2071 Xpower AC/DC Powerpack Solar With 400 Watt Inverter, Two AC Outlets, USB Port, And Digital DisplayI am very impressed and satisfied with this product. The Xantrex Solar 400, I just found out for myself, can even be charged with indoor light source such as high-intensity lamps. This makes it more convenient to be able to charge maybe a few extra hours when the sun goes down. I only wish it could be waterproof or have some water resistance. It can do as advertised in the instruction manual, but to reiterate what another reviewer mentioned is to make sure that as soon as you receive it, that you charge it up right away, or as soon as possible. I mostly am interested in its ability to alert the user if it is using too much energy and automatic overload shutdown capabilities. I use it to charge my laptop when the laptop is turned off. This product is highly recommended for its price and quality. Again, I wished it was waterproof.

Xantrex for camping Jul 19, 2010 I used this for the first time while camping in the mountain this past weekend and it surpassed my expectations. This is a great emergency back up unit along with outings.

A real Plug Jul 16, 2010 Bought this product from a retail chain, because on was on sale. When to plug in to charge it for the first time, Beeped and said Voltage was too great, use the proper power plug ( Code E201).Unfortunately it was the one that came with the Box. So played around for 30 Minutes, different power outlet's, nothing . Read up online for fault finding. Not even listed on the manufactures website, this really is frustrating. Tried other variations, solar panel etc to work. No joy. Returned to Store, Lady similarly conducted experiments, different outlets, read the fine print etc. In the end she gave up and I got a refund. I don't know how exasperated I'd be if I got this via Amazon. If the AC adapter that comes with box is mismatched and non-serviceable for the unit, shows you the quality control and thought for this product. Great idea and presentation, shot down in flames by abysmal ability. Don't even Bother like unless you enjoy the lotto and have $100's to waste.
This is a genuine review and without was bought before looking at the Amazon ratings.
